Structure Fire - Manchester

The Manchester and Shortsville (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched this afternoon to 101 Merrick Ave for a reported structure fire. Command went on scene and reported no visble fire, but damage to the exterior of the building.
Further update by command reported a bedroom fire that was contained, and Shortsville units were held in quarters. The Red Cross assisted the residents who were displaced by the fire.
4th of July Parade - Canandaigua

Several area fire departments participated in this year’s annual Independence Day parade in Canandaigua. Events are scheduled throughout the day with Fireworks this evening.
Structure Fire - Phelps

The Phelps and Marble Town (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched this afternoon to the Corner of Marble Town and Gifford Roads for a reported shed on fire.
Phelps Engine 2131 went on location and reported a shed fire that has spread to the garage, with additional exposures. Command requested the Oaks Corners Fire Department to respond to the scene, and the Clifton Springs Fire Department to Stand-by in their quarters.
The Fire was called under control in approximately 20 minutes. Photos

Fatal MVA - Farmington

The Farmington Fire and Victor-Farmington Ambulance were dispatched this evening to Allen Padham Road for a reported 1 vehicle MVA with injuries. While enroute, command requested mutual aid from the Macedon Fire Department, as Farmington was already working another incident.
Upon arrival, command reported 2 serious injuries and 1 critical injury. Unfortunatly, 1 passenger of the vehcile died from his injuries. RNews story
MVA with entrapment - Manchester

The Manchester Fire Department and Shortsville Ambulance were dispatched tonight to the NYS Thruway at exit 43 for a reported 1 vehicle MVA with rollover. Command reported a NY State Police vehicle overturned with the occupant trapped. EMS command requested Mercy Flight to respond, but they were unable to due to the weather.
After a 30 minute extrication operation, the Officer was removed with non life threatning injuries. Shortsville ambulance & Finger Lakes ALS transported via ground to Strong Hospital in Rochester. 13Wham News
Mutual Aid to Livingston County - Several Departments

Several west side Ontario County Fire Departments responded this evening to a structure fire in Lima, Livingston County. Primary requests were for tankers, with additional requests for manpower and fill-in to empty fire stations. The following Ontario County Fire Departments were activated : Richmond, West Bloomfield, East Bloomfield, Ionia, Bristol, and Victor. Industrial Accident - VA Medical Center

The VA Medical Center Fire Department responded this morning to the Campus Boiler Plant for a report of a injured person. Finger Lakes Ambulance and ALS were also dispatched to the scene.
Command reported 1 patient with serious hand injuries and requested Mercy Flight to the scene to transport the victim. Canandaigua City FD was placed on standby for the VAFD during the incident.
Ontario County Investigator Killed in Motorcycle MVA - Bloomfield

Cecil “Butch” Brand, a 23-year veteran of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office died in an overnight in a motorcycle crash Saturday. Rnews Report The East Bloomfield Fire Department and Ambulance responded to the scene.
Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Brand family, and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department.
Serious MVA - West Bloomfield

The West Bloomfield and Ionia Fire Departments were dispatched tonight to County Road # 37 for a report of a serious MVA with at least 4 injuries & entrapment.
Command reported 5 injuries, with no entrapment. 3 Helicopters were utilized to transport the 5 victims, along with numerous ground ambulances. The Ionia Fire Department was re-directed to set up a landing zone for the incoming helicopters. Rnews Story
