Local Fire Departments see State Grants frozen – Seneca Castle & Oak Corners
Posted on March 12th, 2009 by admin
The Seneca Castle and Oaks Corners Fire Departments both recently learned that money ear-marked for them has been eliminated from the State Budget. In both cases, Senator Nozzolio presented the departments with large display checks for $10,000 grants, with the money coming from last year’s state budget. Later, a letter was send stating that because the money is not being carried over to this year’s budget, the departments would not receive the grants, as funds have been frozen and the state has decided not to release them.
