Structure Fire – West Lake Road

The West Lake Road Fire Department was dispatched this afternoon to a reported structure fire following a lightning strike. Command went on scene and reported a fire burning in a basement window behind the washer and dryer.
The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the structure.
It appears lightning struck a tree in the back yard and followed the leach lines into the house. The Bellona fire department was place on standby in their quarters during the incident.
