Ontario County Chief’s Training Seminar
The 2008 County Fire Chiefs’ Training Seminar will be held at the Ontario County Safety Training Facility, 2914 County Road #48, on Saturday, March 15, 2008.
This year’s program was chosen from the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs’ mini-seminar workshop, and will be presented by Battalion Chief Gerald Tracey.
This year’s program is “Enhancing Our Size Up”. Firefighter and public safety is dependent upon our diligence, including our efforts in performing a thorough size up. Upon arrival at the scene, time is of the essence. This program will review methods that can stimulate and initiate the thought process for characterizing priorities of operations upon arrival. It will assist in the formulation and implementation of tactics that will increase efficiency and safety by presenting a series of visual and mental cues to employ to assist categorizing information .
Because of the nature of this year’s presentation, we are making it available to, and encouraging the attendance of, firefighters as well as Chiefs and Line Officers.
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the program starting at 8:30 a.m. There will be a mid-morning break with coffee and Danish served.
