Mutual Aid Seneca County – Geneva
On 26 July 2008, the C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Company of the Geneva Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the Village of Seneca Falls. While en route, the SFFD canceled Geneva’s truck company response, but requested a F.A.S.T. team response. The Hydrant Hose Company responded to this request with Engine 1112. When Geneva arrived on scene, multiple fire departments were work two structure fires, 7 Oxford St. and 32 Maple St., with live primary power lines arching on the ground.
Geneva firefighters provided FAST coverage at the Maple St. address until that fire was declared under control and then assisted with the basement fire on Oxford St. At least three people were transported to the hospital, a civilian and two firefighters.
The West Lake Road Fire Department provided standby coverage for the City of Geneva, and North Side Fire Department provided coverage for the Border City Fire Department. The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team is investigating the cause of both fires. Photos by GFD
