Structure Fire – Gorham

The Gorham and Stanley (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched this evening to Yautzy Road for a reported garage fire, with the garage attached to the house.

Command went on location with a fully involved structure, and requested mutual aid tankers from the Hopewell, Seneca Castle, Hall, and Crystal Beach Fire Departments. 1 person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The Red Cross was called to assist the resident.

Wires down with a camper fire – Phelps

The Phelps fire Department was dispatched this afternoon Church St for a report of a High Tension wire down. While en route, dispatch reported that there were several calls for wires down / power issues in the general area.

Command wend on location and reported a wire down at that location with a camper on fire. NYSE&G and National Grid were both requested to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Structure Fire – Geneva

The Geneva Fire Department was dispatched this evening for a reported fire in a bed room on Columbia Ave in the city.

First arriving units reported a Code 35 that was quickly contained and extinguished. The Border City Fire Department provided fill-in coverage for the city. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.

Structure Fire – Canandaigua

The Canandaigua Fire Department was dispatched this evening to Davidson Ave in the city for a reported structure fire.

While en route, further updates from dispatch reported the possibility of 1 person still entering and exiting the structure, and command requested mutual aid from the VA Medical Center FD. Units went on location reported smoke from the 2nd floor of a large duplex.

The Cheshire and Shortsville FD’s provided fill-in coverage, and the fire was under control in just over 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Thruway Accident – Manchester

The Manchester Fire Department, Shortsville Ambulance, and Finger Lakes ALS were dispatched this morning to the NYS Thruway for a reported MVA in the East – bound lane near the Country Road # 7 over pass. Further updates reported at least 2 vehicles, including a 15 passenger van.

Finger Lakes went on location and reported 13 patients, with 2 critical. Mutual aid has been requested from various Fire Departments to assist with landing zones and extrication / manpower. Numerous ambulances have been requested to the scene, as well as 3 Helicopters.

The Thruway is currently shut-down in the East-bound lane from exit 43 (Manchester) to exit 42 (Geneva).

MVA with Serious injuries – Shortsville

The Shortsville Fire and Ambulance were dispatched this morning to Latting road for a reported 1 car roll over accident with 2 occupants, 1 possibly trapped.

Command went on location and reported a rolled over vehicle in pieces with 2 serious injures . Further updates reported no entrapment, and Mercy Flight was requested to the scene. An additional request went out for a second Mercy Flight helicopter to the scene. 2 victims were transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries.

Structure Fire – Honeoye

The Honeoye and Bristol (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched just after midnight this morning to Simmons Road for a reported of a fire inside a structure.

Command when on location and reported a working structure fire in a two story barn style building. Mutual aid was requested from the Bristol, West Bloomfield, East Bloomfield, Naples Fire departments, and Honeoye-Richmond Ambulance. Mutual aid from Livingston County included Livonia Ambulance, Hemlock and the Livonia Fire Departments. The fire was placed under control just over an hour after the initial call.

No injuries to fire personnel were reported. Although the two-story portion of the building remained standing the building was heavily damaged by the fire.

Fatal MVA – Fishers

The Fishers and Farmington Fire Departments responded this morning the the NYS Thruway for a car Vs Tractor Trailer MVA near the Victor Exit with a report of entrapment.

Command reported a serious MVA with 1 person with serious injuries. The driver of the car was transported to Strong Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Farmington Fire Department was dispatched this morning to State Rt 332 for a reported vehicle fire at the MC automotive repair shop.

Command went on location with car fire that was quickly extinguished.

Structure Fire – Geneva

The Geneva Fire department was dispatched this morning to 14 Linden Street for a report of smoke in the apartment.

Units went on location and located a fire in the ceiling area of a 3rd floor apartment. The fire was quickly extinguished.
