The Canandaigua Fire Department and Canandigua Ambulance Squad responded this morning to the Pactiv Corportation for numerous employees affect by fumes from an overheated forklift battery. Firefighters removed the battery from the building, ventilated the structre and provided air monitoring. A total of 6 people were transported to either Thompson Hospital or Clifton Springs Hospital. The Canandaigua Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of State Routes 5&20 and Buffalo Street Extension for a reported MVA with a car into a pole. The Farmington Fire Department was dispatched this afternoon to Fred Drive for a report of flames seen under a car port. This activated box 400 which also dispatched the Victor and Canandaigua Fire Departments under automatic mutual aid.
