The Victor and Farmington (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched this afternoon to the area of East and Coville Streets in the village for a multiple calls reporting a garage on fire. As units from Victor went enroute they reported a working fire visible from their station.

The Port Gibson Fire Department was requested to standby in their quarters for the Palmyra Fire Department as they responded to a reported barn fire. Once on scene, Palmyra Command requested the Port Gibson and Manchester Fire Departments to respond to the scene on Stafford Road.
The barn was destroyed and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
