Hundreds attended  the “Sweeping Away Cancer” benefit in Geneva Sunday night to remember Assistant Chief Matt Foe of the White Springs Fire Department.  Nine years ago Foe was diagnosed with brain cancer, and since then, Foe has been an advocate for fire fighter benefits. Foe has been working with Senator Nozzolio, Assemblyman Kolb, and the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) to improve the law that protects volunteer fire fighters in cases where cancer is involved.  Unfortunately last week, Foe lost his battle with the disease.
